3 Traits Every Pilot Must Possess!

Toby Sernel
A great combination of skills is required if you want to become a successful pilot. It seems that this process involves a number of technicalities which is untrue. This requires a set of skills that cater to situations including communication under pressure and outperforming in the most difficult situations. Following 3 traits are essential and they must be possessed by every pilot:

Clear communication:

Clear communication abilities are required in almost every job and people have benefitted from these skills to a great extent. There are pugnacious critics in this regard who believe that pilots do not have to communicate to that level thus, less focus must be laid on communication skills and more on the technical side. As a matter of fact, a number of plaintive air crashes show that lack of communication can be lethal at times. Thus, it is essential for pilots to have exceptional communication skills that are focused on the following factors:

Clearance

Clearance or clarity is the most important element that makes a communication process effective.

Control the situation:

Pilots can control a rough situation by analyzing the situation and communicating it with the passengers in a positive and optimistic manner.

Situational preparedness:

Another important element is the situational preparedness. This clearly means that a pilot must be aware of everything occurring before, during and after the flight. The poor services can be ameliorated by providing clear information to the passengers but for this, a pilot must be aware of the situational issues. There are a number of things that are not in the control of the pilot. This includes weather conditions, the condition of the plane after it has taken off and a number of other things. There might come a time when a pilot has to take a tough decision and inform it to others. This would only be possible if the pilot is prepared for that particular situation.

 Decision-making skills:

In case of turbulence, pilots have to make tough decisions and these decisions are important in the sense that they involve the wellbeing of every single individual on board. Timely decisions can help in the proper management of the chaotic situation without any further delay.
